22 months!
Her latest funny phrase is, "Oh, gosh!" She tends to use it in moments that would actually merit some exasperation, and that cracks me up.
All of a sudden, it seems like she has sprouted a mouthful of teeth. After not having any (or very few) for so long, she's got 14 now! Six on the top and eight on the bottom. Teething has been a surprisingly smooth process so far.
I taught her how to throw the ball for Lukin a couple of weeks ago (read: how to go over to the edge of the deck and drop it through so he can run around and get it), so now, he thinks she's the bee's knees. Well, maybe that's a bit of a stretch, but he does tolerate her.
I think I've decided on a theme for her 2nd birthday party, but that, of course, is subject to change.

Mother's Day came early around here!
Here's my new toy that Ella and Jon got me for Mother's Day:
The Magic Mouse! (Yes, I am the kind of dork who gets a new mouse for Mother's Day and thinks it's awesome.) It's taken me a little getting used to, but it's really neat. I'm planning to upgrade my OS to Snow Leopard here in the next day or two as well, and then I'll be able to download the BetterTouchTool add-on, which apparently really kicks up the capabilities.
As additional Mother's Day treats, I got to sleep in this morning, which was lovely, and Jon made breakfast for me, too. It was meant to be breakfast in bed, but I woke up before he finished cooking :) Then we went out to dinner with my folks tonight.
All in all, a lovely day.
On a completely unrelated note, I am beyond excited that Friday Night Lights is back on TV! Oh, my...this is such a good show. If you're not watching, you're really missing out. I don't even like football, and I can't get enough of this show. The acting, the writing, the soundtrack, the cinematography...it's all just amazing.

Well, I *did* need to reorganize the pantry.
I especially like the idea of keeping the idea of keeping the canned goods on top of the trash can :)
Also, that same night, we had a unexpected guest in our salad:
It was alive -- although, I'm not sure if that's better or worse.

Plant progress.
Along with our attempt at healthier eating, I decided I was going to try my hand at growing some produce this year. Nothing major, just tomatoes and strawberries. I'm about 2 weeks in, and everything's still alive -- trust me when I say this is quite the victory for me. A gardener by nature I am not.
Here's one of my tomato plants after I first planted it:
And here's the same plant as of yesterday:
It's coming right along! I'm trying my best not to be a plant murderer.
One of my strawberry plants is starting to get a few berries on it as well. Exciting! I don't know how many berries I should expect to get, but I hope enough to put up a little jam...or at least have some strawberry shortcake.
And just 'cause I can....
