Cleaning out the clutter

I'm on a personal mission to get our house decluttered. Over the weekend, I did a good deal of cleaning since we had some folks over to watch the fight, which included cleaning off (finally!) the kitchen table. I was amazed that there was still a table UNDER there!

Yesterday, I dejunked the desk, and it's so much nicer to sit and work at. After I finished that, I thought I might blog about my adventures in decluttering, mostly to keep myself motivated, but maybe I'll inspire someone else as well. I plan to work on just one thing a day, and get that done like I want it, included bagging up things we no longer use/wear to go to Goodwill.

Today, I tackled all the baby clothes that Ella has outgrown. They were sitting in piles on the floor of her nursery, and had been there for awhile. She also had clothes that she hasn't grown in to yet that still needed to have tags removed, get washed, and be sorted and put away.

Here are the before photos:

Blech, pretty junky. I bagged up all Ella's newborn and 0-3 months clothes (with the exception of a few little outfits I wanted to keep for sentimental reasons), and there are now 4 bags of clothes ready to donate. I cut all the tags off her new clothes and put them in the hamper to get washed and put away, which included emptying the bags in front of the toy box. I also put away the tool kit, which I'd just pulled out this afternoon when I was looking for a screwdriver.

And with all that done, here are the after pictures:

Much better!

Good job, ho! Do you guys have a "Once Upon a Child" in GSO? They pay you for used baby clothes. They took some of Gracie's (I got about $30) and I donated the rest. Just a thought.
