Do people just take leave of their senses when talking to a pregnant woman?

Sometimes, I really have to wonder.

Over the past couple of days at work, I have had various people:
-tell me I look miserable.
-tell me I look like I should have had the baby LAST week.
-ask me if I'm having twins.

*blink*

Really? How are any of these things OK to say?

I'm not miserable. Nor am I, compared to a LOT of 38-week pregnant women, that big. In fact, just a couple of weeks ago, I had people telling me how good I looked and that I looked nowhere near as pregnant as I am.

Have I really deteriorated that much in the course of 2 weeks? I'd like to think I haven't, but I could be wrong.

Or it could just be that people feel like they can say whatever they like to a pregnant woman, and it's OK.

i don't know what it is about a pregnant woman that makes people act like absolute morons. They're probably related to the people who ask a woman when she's due and she's not even pregnant. Some people are just stupid, plain and simple.

oh yeah. I heard the most horrible comments when I was pregnant..."wow, that kid is going to come out a toddler" and my personal favorite,

"are you 'supposed to' gain that much weight - are you sure you are alright??"

Yeah....people definitely take leave of their senses...

Wow. People are morons. You are NOT that big. I had people tell me when I was 6 months that they didn't even think I looked pregnant. You know what? Even if you DIDN'T know I was pregnant, you don't SAY that crap!
You have to get used to rude people. The unsolicited advice/comment just continue...

Are you kidding me? I was actually wondering how you managed to stay so compact at 8 1/2 months. Those people are thoughtless twits.

You're glowing, and I'll slash their tires. Lemme at 'em. :)
