I meant to post this the other night, when it actually happened.
Alex is our long-haired cat, and he gets matted easily. He doesn't like to be groomed a lot, so sometimes I have to resort to using the scissors to get out the bad ones. Not great, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
Anyway, I was cutting a few mats out on Saturday night after Jon and I got home from work. Alex was fussing, but generally being cooperative.
But then, as I went to cut, he jerked, and instead of me cutting fur, I cut a big chunk of Alex.
I felt HORRIBLE.
It actually didn't bleed a whole lot, thankfully, and Jon caught him and we cleaned it up and put some Neosporin on it.
He went and hid under the bed for a good while after that. I think he was more upset about being held down while we cleaned it than the actual cut itself.
He seems to be on the mend, and we're keeping an eye on it, just in case.
What a terrible feeling that was though.

I hope kittie is ok now.
As you already know, cats are like elephants and the never forget, at least my parents old cat Boots never did, so beware!(LOL)
Oh no! I can only imagine how horrible you felt. Luckily Willow only has one spot that gets matted. She's a really clean kitty, but she's also fat so there's a spot in the middle of her back that she can't reach. I haven't had any problems with her letting me cut it yet. I just catch her when she's already in my lap begging for attention.
